Ms. Taquila Tati-yana Diaz was born June 8, 1997, in Hampton, Virginia. She resided in Newport News, Virginia
Tati was a fun loving person who loved to protect her family and those she cared for. Taquila was a hard worker. She was enrolled at Thomas Nelson Community College furthering her education and fulfilling her dream of becoming a social worker. She was employed at Popeye’s Restaurant and the City of Newport News. She attended elementary, middle school, and high school in Raleigh, NC. She was a 2016 graduate of Heritage High School.
Tati was always willing to give her last to help the less fortunate. Always being seen helping a stranger or buying food for someone that may be hungry. She loved to dance, ride four-wheelers, and motorcycles. She adored her nieces and nephews, and little cousins. She was always very adventurous and outgoing.
She is preceded in death by her father Richard Roberts, her aunt Lisa Wooten, her maternal grandmother Margie Watson. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Chaila “Kia” Diaz (Yohannes); her maternal grandfather William Wooten; her sisters Margie "Be-Be" Diaz, Tamara Brown; her brother Richard Roberts; her Paternal grandparents Richard Lee and Linda Roberts; 1 Great Aunt Bessie Marrow Bland (Loinnel); 2 Great Uncles Robert Lewis Wooten and Elgine Wooten; 7 Aunts Vivian Johnson, Josette Baker Watson, Lawan Roberts, Keisha Lee (Saye), Michelle Garris, Rosa Wooten, and Cindy Wooten; 5 Uncles Elbert Watson (Deborah), Albert Watson (Joyce), William Robert Wooten, Dion Roberts (Tamara) and Antwon Roberts. Her Godmother Ikeila Chapman, her best friend Na'Taure Dorsett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services for Ms. Diaz will be held 1:00p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2018 at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church Temple. 3100 Butternut Drive Hampton, Va. 23666. by Dr. Jerome Barber.
Interment will be held at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Viewing for Ms. Diaz will be held form 3:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. Friday, June 21,2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
