Ms. Lillie M. Byrd

Ms. Lillie Byrd transitioned Friday, December 21, 2018 at  Envoy of Williamsburg, in Williamsburg, VA.

Her life began April 16, 1954 as the daughter of Madison and Oura Byrd. During her early childhood she met Christ through the leadership of the late Rev. C.C. Pearson of Mt. Morriah RZUA Church. Later in her childhood Mrs. Byrd grew up under the leadership of Rev. Tarrence K. Paschall where she attended church, sung in the choir, and served on the usher board.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Byrd attended Hampton Public Schools and later graduated from Hampton High School. She worked in food services at Hampton University for serveral years. Lillie was preceeded in death by her father Deacon Madison Byrd and her mother Mrs. Oura Mentoria Byrd as well as her siblings Bennie Basterville, Author Byrd, Carolyn Bryd, Curtis Lamont Byrd, and Stephen Anthony Woodis.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter Oura Nichole Byrd, four devoted brothers Madison Bryd Jr., Curtis Byrd (Yvonne Byrd), Larry Bryd, and Linwood Byrd, and two dedicated sisters Doris Downs (John Downs), and Gloria Woodis (Carlton Woodis).

Services for Ms. Byrd will be held 11:00a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Chapel of C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc. by Pastor Tarrence K. Paschall Sr. 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. 

Viewing for Ms. Byrd will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
