Ms. Doris D. Smallwood

Ms. Doris Denise Smallwood was born on March 6, 1970 in Newport News, Virginia. She was called to be with the Lord on Saturday August 3, 2019.

Doris D. Smallwood graduated from Hayfield High School in Alexandria, Virginia. She attended University of Phoenix enrolled in Business Management courses and worked many years as a Human Resource Supervisor at Home Depot in Alexandria, Virginia. Whether you knew her as Doris, Niecy, Aunt Niecy or Ms. Smallwood, you knew you could always count on her.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents Sergeant First Class (SFC) U.S. Army Retired Roosevelt Smallwood (2018) and Wanda Virginia (Rithchie) Smallwood (1995).

She leaves to cherish her memories, her two brothers Willie "Tony" Smallwood and Theodore "Ted" Smallwood of Newport News, Virginia, Special Friend of fifteen years Douglas "Doug" Powell, along with a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

A viewing for Mrs. Doris D. Smallwood will be held from noon until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Road Hampton, Virginia by Dr. Christopher C. Carter, Sr.

Interment Private.
