Mrs. Vernell Rush

Mrs. Vernell W. Rush (Kitty), age 83 of Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning, April 18, 2019.  She was the only child born to the late James Jetter and Cora Jetter in Toano, Virginia. She is a widower of her late husband Joseph Henry Rush. 

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, planting flowers and aerobics.  She also loved dressing up and attending banquets and special events.
 

She will be remember for her unconditional love and giving spirit she showed as she cared for her seven children, 11 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and several foster children.

She is survived by Rhonda D. Rush of Hampton, VA, Joseph H. Rush of Hampton, VA, Phyllis M. Magana of Iowa, David A. Rush of Butner, NC, Patricia R. Rush of Carrolton, VA, Sandra L. Rush of St. Cloud, FL, and Mary L. Rush of Hampton, VA.

The family wishes to thank you all for your support in celebrating her life by attending her funeral service on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 12 noon at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr., 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
