Mrs. Tonya M. Hyman wife of Mr. Kel Hyman transitioned on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Sentara Careplex. Hampton, VA.
Tonya Marie Meminger Hyman of Taino and Cherokee Indian descent was born in Hampton Va, to Clara Meminger on May 27th, 1979. Tonya attended Phoebus High School of Hampton Va. Upon completion of her coursework, she enjoyed working as a CNA, Housekeeper, and Walmart associate.
Phenomenal woman, wife, mother, and friend is what many will remember Tonya as. She was a very family oriented person, and even considered her friends her family. One thing that brought her much joy, was making others laugh and spending time with family and friends. Some of Tonya’s favorite things were, the Dallas Cowboy football team, H.E.R’s song “Best part”, and Elephants.
Tonya was preceded in death by her Grandmother Ella Louise Washington.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories Her husband Kel Hyman of 22 years, and from this union they were blessed with 5 children: K-Sean, Khadijah, Keandre, Israel, Tiana; her mother Clara Meminger Flowers (Fred) of Hopewell Va; Her Father Lonnie Robinson; 2 sisters: Stacey Meminger, and Sade Meminger both of Hampton Va. Mother-in-law Joyce Hyman Watson (Garette) of Hampton Va. Father-in-law George F. Brantley (Elizabeth) of Hobgood N.C., Aunt; Estelle Baker, Uncles; Gerome Meminger (Linda), Allen Meminger of Hampton Va. Stacey Meminger Jr. (Sherri) of Columbus, Ohio. 5 nieces: Ciara, Shamonie, Kaydence, Serenity, and Brielle; 2 nephews: Ja’Quan and Kael; Special Friends: Margo Jones, Shanequa Davies, Tekia Hicks, Rochelle Curtis, Taniesha Ramsey Priester, LaKeisha Ramsey, Erica Hobson, Ann Taylor, Laeattar Brown, and a host of loving cousins and friends
