Mrs. Rubie Yon Davis Jones “Big Mama”

Mrs. Rubie Yon Davis Jones “Big Mama” celebrated 101 years of age on earth on October 5, 2017. However, on May 8, 2018, her time on this earth ended. Mrs. Jones was born, raised, and lived in Blountstown, Florida, but has been residing with her grand-daughter, Myra, and grandson in-law, Cleveland, since 2008 in Newport News, Virginia.

Family left to cherish her memory are granddaughter, Myra (Cleveland) Corbin; grandson, James (Deanna) Thomas, Jr.; and grandson, Bruce (Diane) Green; her loving great grandchildren Janiyah Ruby Thomas, Kwani (Keith) Woods, Charina (Leo) Marlowe, Nicholas Green, and Ryan Green. Mrs. Jones will return to her hometown in Florida to join her loved ones in the family’s final resting place. 

A family viewing and visitation will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Blountstown, FL with Rev. C.L. Wilson Pastor.

Interment will be in the Graves Creek Cemetery, Blountstown, FL

The viewing will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Mrs. Jones will lie in repose at the church from 11:00 A.M. until time for the service.
