Minnie Esther Brown entered into eternal rest at home with her family by her side on June 24, 2019, after a brief illness. Minnie gave her life to Christ at an early age and later rededicated herself to Christ at Macedonia Baptist Church, Newport News, Virginia in October 1997.
She was born on October 7, 1952, in Newport News, Virginia to Charlie and the late Maxine Whitehead. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Brown, her mother, Maxine “Jackie” Whitehead, a brother, Marvin Whitehead and a sister Dorothy “Dot” Whitehead.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Donnell C. Whitehead (Lynnell), Andre Whitehead, one grandson, Donnell C. Whitehead, Jr., four grand daughters, Raechelle Davis, Nevaeh Demps, Andrea Whitehead, and Danajah Whitehead, three great grand sons, Dahvione Whitehead, Davari Whitehead and Diovahnie Whitehead, two brothers, Leon Whitehead of Hampton, Lenard Whitehead of Craddock, two sisters, Ms. Joyce Butler and Rev. Eugenia Grant (Rocliff) both of Newport News. Cousins, Gloria London, Evelyn Thomas, Jean Thomas-Banks, Joe Manley and Don Thomas. A special adopted sister, Deborah Hawkins and her long time friends, Edna (deceased) and Earline. Minnie loved her two boys and the Dallas Cowboys as well as her adopted boys, Tracy Bonner, Terry Bonner, James Williams and Shawn Bush.
A viewing for the late Mrs. Minnie Esther Brown will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2019, at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services will be held noon Monday, July 1, 2019, at The Mount Peninsula Church, 6406 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Yorktown, VA.
Interment will be private.
