Mrs. Lillian Washington

Mrs. Lillian Washington was born on August 8 1917 in Elizabeth City County (Hampton) Virginia.

She made a glorious transition into the presence of of the Lord on March 15 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Oney Taylor Bailey her husband John Washington Sr.; Six siblings two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a lifelong member of Wesley Grove UCC.

She loved people and she allowed that love to radiate to everyone she met. She was known throughout the community for her good hot  yeast rolls™ which she shared with so many over the years.

Left to continue her legacy are her children Mildred Stewart Estelle Hunter Thelma Owens Lillian Johnson John Washington (Malinda) and Brenda Hill (Milton Sr.); sisters-in- law Lillian Bailey Althea Scott and Marie Washington; 16 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren 28 great great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nephews nieces cousins family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Wesley Grove UCC Saurday March 24 at 12 Noon.

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
