Mrs. Evelyn "Shirley" Mayo

Mrs. Evelyn "Shirley"  Mayo transitioned on Friday, February 16, 2018  at her home surrounding by her loved ones, in Hampton, VA.

Evelyn “Shirley” Mayo (Waddell) was born to the late Lottie Tensely (Waddell) and Claude Gentry in Danville, Virginia. Where she attended Danville Public Schools. 

“Shirley” was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Foots” Mayo, Grandmother Nellie Crochett (Waddell), Mother Lottie Tensely and brother Aaron Waddell. 

She leaves to cherish her memories step father Roy Tensely, one sister Sylvia “Faye” Debroux (Waddell), four step children Rose Mayo (Richmond), Dorothy Graves, Darlene Holloway & Tyrone Simmons. Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren,cousins, family and friends.

Services for Mrs, Mayo will be  held  11:00a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at New Living Well Bible Church. 1245 N. King Street. Hampton, VA.by Pastor Diane Carr.

Interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery.  Quantico, VA. 

Viewing for Mrs. Mayo will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc.
