Mrs. Eunice Finch

Mrs. Eunice Finch faithful member of Cornerstone Worship Center, transitioned peacefully at the age of 83 surrounded by family at her home in Newport News, VA on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

Mrs. Eunice A. Finch born September 1, 1935 in Newport News, VA., to the late Reverend Ora B. and Lottie Alston.

Eunice attended Newport News Public schools and graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1953 the Mighty Trojans.

Eunice received her Nursing Certifications as a (CNA) at Dixie Hospital, which is now called Sentara Careplex of Hampton, VA. She also worked at Patrick Henry Hospital which was located in the city of Newport News, VA for many years in 60’s and late 70’s. And in 1995, she retired from Hampton General Hospital (Sentara Careplex). 

On October 4, 1958 Eunice entered into holy matrimony to the late Willie Melvin Finch Sr. and this union birthed five children who are left to honor her memory, three sons, Willie M. Finch Jr., Lorne Dwayne Finch both of Newport News and Ronald W. Finch (Cheryl) of Hampton, VA, two daughters, Sharon Finch of Sacramento, CA and Karen Mason (Vernon) of Newport News, VA.

Grandchildren, Jasmine Finch and Darien Price of Cleveland OH, Vernon Mason Jr. , Candace Mason and Johnell Judkins of Newport News, VA and Aaron Finch of Hampton VA.  Great grandchildren, Cayden Mason of Newport News, VA. Kaya Price and Ibraheim Muhaymin of Cleveland, OH.  

Services will be held noon Friday, March 1, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Road Hampton, VA 23666 by Apostle Joan Henderson.

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

A viewing will be held from noon to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 3314 Roanoke Ave Newport News, VA 23607. The family will receive family and friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m..
