Mrs. Dorothy Moore Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Moore widower of Mr. John S. Moore and mother of Mrs. Lena Wilson-Brown went home for her call from Heaven on November 15, 2018 peacefully.

 

Her journey of life began December 25, 1926 in the Southampton, County area of Courtland and Boykins, VA., and she had been a Peninsula resident for almost 70 years, and retired from Riverside Hospital.

 

Married to the love of her life, John S. Moore until his homegoing in May, 1999, they were pillars of their neighborhood for over 40 years in the 1100 block of 37th Street, where they made everyone entering their home, felt a warming welcoming each time they visit. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and a host of loved ones. She was the eldest member of the Scoggins-Pope-Warrell family, and was loved by many. Surviving members of her legacy are her faithful daughter, and care provider Lena where she resided.  4 sibling, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins she loved dearly.

 

Services for Mrs. Moore will be held 12pm Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA. 23666., by Pastor Telzia Thomas.

 

Interment will be private.

 

The family wishes to thank all for prayers, and their acts of kindness thru bereavement, and ask that you continue to keep them in prayers.

 

Mrs. Moore lived a full life, and she meant so much to those that knew and loved her. May her legacy thru her daughter, grandkids and family members continue to be blessed. 

 

It is the desire of the Moore family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 

The family of the late Mrs. Dorothy Moore  has entrusted her final care to the staff of C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
