Mrs. Charnita Johnson

Mrs. Charnita Johnson was born in Southampton County Virginia to Earlene Lucas and Jefferson Johnson. God breathed his life giving breath into her on August 12, 1952 and her life journey ended suddenly on Monday September 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She accepted the Lord into her life at a young age and continued to serve the Lord throughout the rest of her life. Charnita was educated in Newport News public schools. She also attended Maryland Institute College of Art. 

She worked for many years as a Para Professional at New Horizons Regional Education Center and enjoyed her time working with special needs children.   She was married for over 20 years and had five children. Charnita loved the Lord, whom she put first and her family. Charnita enjoyed life, family, friends, and art.

Charnita was preceded in death by her grand parents Beverly and Annie Johnson and Vernie and Beulah Johnson, her parents Earlene Lucas and Jefferson Johnson, and her brother Randall B Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Sean, David (Latoya), Adam, Jennifer (Marquis), and Meredith (Keith). One sister Angelia, and two brothers Vernon (Vanessa) and Indale (Deborah),

Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held noon Saturday, September 8, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA.by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Viewing for Mrs. Johnson will commence fron noon until 6:00p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
