Brigieta Ann Hunt affectionally known as “Ghei-Ghei” went home to be with the lord on Thursday,11/28/2019 at Riverside hospital in Newport News Va. Brigieta was born on October 26, 1961 in Great Lakes Illinois to Ernest and Annie V. King.
Brigieta was educated in Hampton Va and graduated from Bethel High School, she received her associate degree from Bryant and Stratton college.
Brigieta resided in Hampton Va most of her life. She worked hard to provide for her children. She held positions with a few companies until she realized her dream was to work for the city of Hampton with the WIC program until she became ill. When she was able to, she would attend church service’s at “New Hope Baptist Church”.
Brigieta loved to dress, visit family, eat crabs and shop. Let’s not forget she also loved cooking her infamous Lasagna and everyone came running when she was cooking her fried chicken! Brigieta had a smile that would light up the world. She did anything for her children and would help anyone she could.
Brigieta was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father Ernest L. King, aunts Cheryl Burrell/Rachel Koons and Talmus Burrell.
She is survived by her mother Annie King, three sons Shawnjuan L. King (Alesia King) of Hampton VA, Robert J. Griffin (Leticia Sims) of Sterling, VA, and Frederic M Hunt of Hampton, VA; Two Daughters Ulani E. Carter and Tanaisha Hunt of Hampton VA; Seven grandchildren Yuri, Norielle, Amarah, Alexis, Elijah, Zaylen and Amiya; one brother Daniel Sirois of Canada; two sisters Linetta King-James (Carl James) and Dawn Suiter of Hampton VA. One niece Yazmean Turner (Hampton, VA) Two Newphews Carl James Jr. and Kysahn M. Suiter (Hampton, VA) Special cousin Michael Burrell. She also leaves behind Aunts Geraldene Woodord, Doris Diggs (Hampton, VA), Mattie Williams (Hampton, VA), Paulette Green (New Jersey), Alice Wilson (Newport News, VA) one Uncle James A King (Ruth King) of Baltimore, MD and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services will be held noon Thursday, December 5, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia by Dr. Christopher C. Carter, Sr.
Entombment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
