Mrs. Betty J. Burton

Mrs. Betty J. Burton, 66, of Newport News, VA formerly of Connellsville, Pa was called home on March 19, 2018.  She was born March 12, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa.  She was the daughter of the late Ethel Burton. 

Betty graduated from Connellsville Area Sr. High School. After graduation she held a short career in the secretarial field.   She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Burton and her brothers William, Ronald and John “Hardtack” Burton. 

Betty is survived by her son Bryan Burton and grandson Rasheed Burton both of Newport News, Va; sisters Linda Burton of Connellsville, Pa and Patricia Burton of Statesville, NC; her brother James Burton of New Hampshire; aunt June Haith of Philadelphia, Pa; her nieces Erika Burton and Deidre Burton both of Connellsville, Pa; nephews Austin and James Burton of New Hampshire; three great – nieces and three great – nephews all of Connellsville, Pa.

A memorial service will be held noon Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 3314 Roanoke Ave. Newport News, VA 23607.

The world lost a beautiful light on the day you left, and I have missed you every moment since. 

I strived everyday to be at least a fraction of the person you were, so full of love, hope and kindness.

Your spirit continues to live on through every person you touched while here on this earth.
