Mr . Willie Lopez Cooper, affectionately called “Lolo”, departed this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Riverside Regional Medical Center.
“Lolo” was born to the late James and Melvina Cooper on May 20, 1955 in Newport News, Virginia. He received his formal education in the Newport News Public School System.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jethroe Cooper and three of his sisters, Ellen Cooper, Sheila Lewis and Sherry Bellamy.
Left to cherish his memory, his daughter, Lawanda Hogan; granddaughter, Anyla Hogan; step-children, Dujuan Wallace, Stephen Wallace, Alonda Wallace and Quenisia Wallace; three sisters, Adell Thompson (Leslie); Marguerite Bailey (Raymond); and Delilah Lassiter of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, James Cooper, Sr. (Carolyn); Carnell Cooper (Linda); and Erskine Cooper (Christine) of Upper Marlboro, MD; Brother-in-law, Ronald Bellamy; closest friend and nephew, Salvadore Cooper; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Mr. Cooper will be held noon Monday, January 29, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church. 1415 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,
Viewing for Mr. Cooper will be held from noon until 4:00P.M. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc.
