Mr. William Turner Obituary

Mr. William  B. Turner was born on April 16, 1921 to the late Johnny Turner and Angieline Turner.

William was called to rest on the morning of April 24, 2018.

William was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He served in the United States Army for 26 years. He served in the Korean War and in World War II. His pleasures and enjoyments were cooking. Mr. Turner (known as Chef Turner) worked at Fisherman's Wharf for many many years. His favorite dishes were Soul Food to She Crab Soup!

Mr. Turner loved his women, all women especially his two lovely daughters Sophia and Wynella. He loved telling jokes, not just any jokes, but jokes that had morale behind it. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. While in the United States Army, Mr. Turner was a singer in the group called "Spiritual Ensemble."

Mr. Turner would ask Wynella to do something but would say, you are going to have it your way anyway and Wynella would reply "Dad I have to ask Vicky", he would say Oh-Ok, but aren't you the oldest?

Mr. Turner is survived by two daughters, Sophia Vicky Abrams Freeman (Lafayette Freeman) Hampton, Virginia, Wynella Abrams Knight (Calvin Wayne Knight) Hampton, Virginia. Two sons, Jeffery Gunn, (Camelia Gunn) Germany, William Billy Larkin, Albany, New York.

Seven Grandsons, Josiah B. Gunn, Germany, Lamont Turner, Atlanta, Georgia, Markus Larkin, Haverstraw, New York, Lamar Larkin, Greenbush, New York, Maurice Larkin, Covington, Georgia and David Dixon, Pleasantville, New Jersey, Godwin Thurton, Hampton, Virginia.
