Mr. William Taylor Obituary

Mr. William T. Taylor Sr., more affectionately known as “Bill” and “Bro” was born on January 11, 1942 and departed this life March 26, 2018 peacefully in his home after a long courageous battle with cancer.

 

Bro was born in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Queen Sherrod and Floyd Taylor, but was lovingly raised by Queen and the late James Grover Jones. As a young child, he moved to Virginia and attended Newport News Public Schools and graduated from Huntington High School in 1959.Shortly after graduating, he joined the U.S Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, Bro went to work at Spivey Rentals INC. until he retired in 2004.

 

After a year of retirement, he got “bored” and went to work part time at Armstrong Fundamental School until his health failed in 2015. Even as his health continue to fail, he stayed an active member and deacon of House of Refuge Outreach Ministries.

 

William was proceed in death by one sister, LeVerne Jones; three sons, James Jones, Charles Taylor and Travis Wardrick and his first wife Rebecca Nicholson.

 

He is survived by his wife Lue Taylor; five sons: Richard Taylor, William Taylor Jr., Herbert Wardrick, Alcindor Wardrick and Tyrique (JaVon) Wardrick; four daughters: Patrice McNeil, Veronica (Casper) Wardrick-Whitaker, Tomeka Wardrick and Luzetha Wardrick; two brothers: Floyd (Nora) Taylor and James Jones; three sisters: Janice Richardson, Vanessa ( Thomas) Davis and Edna Moore; four brother in laws and one sister in law; a host of grandchildren great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins 

 

Services  for Mr. Taylor will be held noon Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home.Inc. 

 

Viewing for Mr. Taylor will be held  two  hours prior to service.

 

It is the desire of the Taylor  family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 

The family of the late Mr. William Taylor Sr.,  has entrusted his  final care to the staff of C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
