Mr. Will Bowman Sr.,

On September 17, 2018, God called Mr. Will "Roger" Bowman Sr. peacefully into eternal rest at Hampton Sentara Hospital. He was born November 17, 1935 to the late Charles and Louise Bowman in Charles City Va.

He was the youngest of five children. At a young age his family moved to Richmond Va. where he attended George Mason Elementary School and Armstrong High School. While living in Richmond he joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. After his family relocated to Hampton Va. he attended Phoenix High School.

He was employed with the Newport News Shipbuilding and Brandt and White Masonry Contractors. When the company split he remained with Brandt Masonry Contractors until he was no longer able to work.

Roger was a loving and caring father who embrace his family with love and devotion. Dad was quiet with a unique sense of humor. He had a special relationship with all of his grandkids. Dad loved to cook but he had a knack for fixing a dish that you loved and when you came back for more the next day he had added something else to it. It would be good but not quite the same.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Delois Jean Jenkins-Bowman, his son Will R. Bowman Jr., his daughter Deborah J. Bowman, his grandson Ralph Bowman Jr. and his siblings Charles Bowman, Edna Guynn, Virginia Bowman and Ardella Banks.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his daughters, Janice (George) Bowman-Larrimore of Gloucester Va., Judy (Ronald) Bowman-Dillard of Yorktown Va., Jackie Bowman, and God- daughter, Terry (Willie) Gatling of Newport News Va., sons, Ronnie Bowman, Anthony Bowman of Newport News Va. and Ralph Bowman Sr. of Hampton Va., eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, one sister in-law Mary Bowman and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Services for Mr. Will Bowman Sr., will be held noon Monday, September 24, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr., 

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Viewing for Mr. Bowman and family vistation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
