Mr. Walter Hunter Obituary

Mr. Walter Thomas Hunter, son of Mrs. Annie Mae Hunter (Boynton) was born October 4, 1958 in Newport News, Virginia. He departed this earthly life on December 31, 2019 in Newport News, Virginia. Walter resided with his aunt Louise at 1614 Shiloh Place in Newport News for a number of years.

Walter was reared by his maternal grandparents during his early years and was raised in North Newport News. Walter attended Newport News Public Schools and later graduated from Warwick High School in June of 1974. For over thirteen years he worked for the City of Newport News as Lead Personnel. Walter also acquired several janitorial jobs, work on the loading docks at Marva Maid, he worked as an assistant plumber and held landscaping contracts for various properties in the community. Walter was a very nice person and would help anyone, especially the elderly.

 

Walter was preceded in death by his mother Annie Mae Boynton and his brother Mark Boynton. Walter leaves to honor and cherish his memories, one sister Lilly Evans (Twan) of Hampton, VA; two brothers Clevon Boynton (Denise) of Atlanta, GA and Travis Boynton (Angelia) of Newport News, VA; eight nephews, eight nieces, several aunts, uncles, plenty of cousins and friends. Walter had a heart of gold and we will miss him as the days go by.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness via visits and calls.

 

A viewing for Mr. Walter Thomas Hunter will be held from noon until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

 

Family and friends will gather at cousin Julius and Dale Walker's home, 3 Tupelo Circle, Hampton, Virginia, immediately following the viewing to fellowship and share fond memories of Walter's life.

 

It is the desire of the Hunter family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
