Mr. Vachel Slade Obituary

 

Mr. Vachel Stanley Slade heard the sound of heaven and responded early Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 to be with his “Good, Good Father!” He was born on May 11, 1989 in Newport News and graduated from Warwick High School. Vachel was affectionately known as “Stanley.”

 

Vachel attended church as a child and made the decision at an early age to worship the Lord.  He devoted his life to Kingdom music and was not willing to compromise. He married the love of his life, Lynese Nicole and was a devoted father and family man.

 

Vachel is survived by his loving wife, Lynese Nicole Slade and his children, Kamari, Kynnedi, Kierstyn, and Kaylani; his mother, Wanda Slade; sisters, twin Victoria Griffin (DePaul), Danielle Williams and Shante Riddick; brothers Christian Slade and Jamar Holland, Sr. (Ke’era); grandmother Carrie Graves; grandfathers Ervin Graves and Nicholas Slade; great-grandmother Pearline White; mother-in-law, Lesa Coleman, father-in-law; Lydell Tynes (Pearline); sister-in-laws, Tamika Clark, Kenyanna Moses, brother-in-law, Lydell Washington and best friend, Jarrod Brown.

He leaves to cherish his spiritual parents; Apostle Sammie and Dr. Kim Black, Apostle Charlie and Senior Pastor Vikki Ammons, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a very supportive church family.

 

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 12:00-6:00pm at C. C. Carter Funeral Home located at 3314 Roanoke Avenue, Newport News, VA. 

A Night of Worship in Vachel’s honor will be held on March 2, 2018 from 7:00-9:00pm at Restoration Christian Church located at 606 Denbigh Blvd., Suite 200, Newport News, VA. 

The Homegoing service is Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00am at Dunamis Christian Center, 6148 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA  23607.  Another viewing is 9:00-10:30am prior to the Homegoing service.

Interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2700 Parish Avenue, Newport News, VA.

 

It is the desire of the Slade family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
