Mr. Ulysses Ross Obituary

Ulysses A. Ross, Age 73 passed away on Saturday May 4, 2019 at the VA center in Hampton VA. He was the eighth child born to the late James O and Rosa B. Ross in Clifton Forge VA. On October 18, 1945.

 

Ross was a graduate of Jefferson High School (Clifton Forge) Class of 1964. Ross furthered his education at Virginia Union University and graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor in Education. He also obtain his Master in Divinity from Virginia Union School of Theology in 1982.

 

Ross was a life member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and the NAACP

Ross was a retired Newport News City Middle School Teacher and loved by all of his students. He loved to travel and spend time with his Grandson and his nieces and nephews.  Ross Favorite saying was “NEXT”.

 

He was preceded in death by both Parents, His Wife Juel Franklin Ross, Son Derek Ross Sr, Five brothers James, Charles, Bernard, Everett and Rosamond and one sister Rhonda Blakeney.

 

He leave not to mourn, but to Cherish his Memory one and only Grandson Derek Ross Jr. (D.J) Devoted, God Daughter Sherry Carmichael, One Brother Vincent Ross (Patricia) Richmond VA., Four sisters Eunice Boulware Highpoint NC, Maxine Lee (Charles) Clifton Forge, VA., LaMara Jeanie Jones Richmond VA., Ethel Thompson (George) Clifton forge VA. Fours Sister-in-Laws Rose Taylor Newport News VA., Lana Franklin Atlanta GA, Audrey Ross Richmond VA., Jean Ross New Haven CT.

A Host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and Friends Who Loved “ROSS AKA UKEY”

 

A memorial service with military honors for Mr. Ulysses A. Ross will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Rd Hampton, VA, 23666 with Pastor James Elam, Eulogist.

 

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Red Hill Cemetery in Clifton Forge, VA.

 

It is the desire of the Ross family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
