Mr. Stanley Gayles

Stanley Darnell Gayles 56, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday July 31, 2018 in Newport News, Va.

Stanley was born to the late Stanley and Jeanetta Stephenson in Newport News, Virginia. He received his formal education in the Newport News Public School System and graduated from Ferguson High School in 1981. Stanley was employed at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co,(now Huntington Ingalls Industries) in the X43 Department for over 10 years. He also worked doing landscaping and lawn care. Additionally, Stanley was an excellent caregiver to his Aunt Glenna Green and his brother Tyrone Gayles.

After hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, Stanley made a conscious decision to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Hallelujah.

Stanley was a jokester, quite the comedian in his own right who loved his sons and family immensely. A man with a great big heart, Stanley, never met a stranger. He was a hard worker who believed in supporting his family and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He left an indelible imprint on the hearts of everyone with whom he came in contact. Stanley will be greatly missed!

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; Stanley and Jeanette Stephenson, brothers; Kenneth "Chubby"Gayles, and sisters: Carol Dixon and Deborah "DeeDee" Gayles. Left to cherish warm memories are his two sons: Derrick (Jessica) Edwards and Erek Wright,five brothers; Tyrone, Karl (Ernestine), Phillip (Carolyn), Calvin (Michelle) Gayles and Theodore (Karen) Stephenson, sisters; Shenna (Garry) Kates, Chandra (Errick) Claud, Sadeanna Gayles and Kara Stephenson. Addionally, Stanley is survived by seven grandchildren, a host of nieces,nephews, cousins and other neighborhood friends.

Mr. Stanley Gayles  transitioned  Tuesday,  July 31, 2018 at his home in Newport News, VA. 

Services for Mr. Gayles will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Viewing for Mr. Gayles will be held from noon until 6:00p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
