Mr. Raymond Lee Holsey, son of the late Floyd Parker and Dorothy Smith, was bon on January 26, 1953 in Newport News, Virginia. God in his infinite wisdom, called Ray home on May 7, 2018 at the age of 65.
Ray went to Glassboro High School where he graduated from in 1971.Ray was known for his love of sports. He was an excellent basketball and football player. Even when he got older he would play basketball every Sunday with his Cousin Andrew, followed with a couple of his friends. If you did not know,
Ray was a die-hard Eagles fan. He enjoyed drinking his Michelob while watching his Eagles play. Ray retired from South Jersey Gas as a collector, after 40 years of commitment. Ray would always come home and share his day about someone either waving at him through their window or cursing him out for turning them off. Ray always had a crazy story to tell you.
Raymond left behind a lot of family! His wife Carol Holsey, who he was married to for 30 years. Two daughters Teresa Gilmore and Patricia Holsey. Raymond Lee was the only boy, and left behind 6 sisters; the late Patricia Smith, Gloria Blevins (Michael), Brenda Wilkerson (Curtis), Jean Byrd (Bryan), Joyce Brown, Melissa Taylor(Kevin), and Marcella Gildea(John). One niece Felicia Smith who he was very close to, and his late nephew Richard “Man Man” Smith. He also had a host of other nieces and nephews in Texas. One great aunt: Addie Frazier, and a mass of other family and friends.
Services for Mr Holsey will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc
