Born to Mary Francis T. Jeffreys, Ralph was the middle child of three siblings. Burnett, Ralph and Willie.
He attended Raligh North Carolina Public Schools.
It was soon recognized at church that Ralph had a good singing voice. He then began singing at other social events. Ralph and his brother like sports and especially basketball, his brother was so good folks named him Tricky Willie,
Ralph much of his life around his mothers family with Uncles and aunts near his age they were all very close.
As many of his family members had done Ralph moved to the Washington DC area where he met and married his wife until death Patricia Paige.and from that union came Michael and Tony.
They lived happily in the DC area until moving back to Newport News, Living here until his health began to fail. Ralph passed away on Saturday, Aug 25. 2018 at Coliseum nursing care on Executive Dr. in Hampton, Virginia.
He was the proud father of 6 children who he loved dearly. He always tried to be a good father. Preceiding him in death were Veronica E. Taylor, Ralph Taylor Jr., and 3 grandchildren. Surviving, Julieanne L Greenhill, Renee White (Andre), Michael (Tracy), Tony (Laurie). 10 grand children 7 great grand and 3 great great grand children and host of family and friends.
Servcies for Mr. Taylor will be held noon Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc. by Dr. George Spicer.
Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Taylor lie in state two hours prior to service.
