Mr. Maurice Garrett

Mr. Maurice W. Garrett, 54, was born on December 6, 1963 and passed on to his heavenly home on April 6, 2018.  He was born in Newport News, Virginia to the late John and Grace Garrett.

Maurice was educated in the Newport News Public School System.

Maurice was a great and humble man. He was a family man that loved to keep everyone laughing. Whenever you saw him, he was always smiling. One thing we all knew that he loved his mother dearly and he was a mama’s boy. The staffing at the nursing home affectionately called him Mo Mo and he was a great helper to them.

His parents, John and Grace Garrett, his sister, Portia Garett-Johnson, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories two brothers, William Boothe and Maurice Garrett, aunt, Joan (Carol) Briggs, nephews, Dorian Garrett, Charlie and Marcus Lewis, nieces, Vosslyn Jones, Kelly Belfield, Trina Garrett, Keisha (Ben) Garrett-Fonlon, Tiffany (Nick) Malone and a host of  great nephews and nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.

All who knew him loved him and he will be truly missed!

A memorial service for Mr. Garrett will be held noon Saturday, April 14, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 

It is the desire of the Garrett family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
