Mr. Kevin Boone

Kevin Boone better known as “Red Joe” died February 15, 2019 at VCU in Richmond, VA after strong fight with Cancer.

He was born September 2, 1959 in Franklin, VA to the late Robert Boone and Geneva Boone, where he spent a good portion of his life. He later moved to York County, VA in 1979 with his mother and siblings.

He attended Tabb High School and pursued a career with the city of York County. Kevin was an amazing son, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. To have known him was to love him.

No matter who or whom he encountered, he was able to put a smile on their face. He had a great sense of humor and if you ever needed a good laugh, he was the man to go to.

He will always be remembered for his phrase” OWW OWW” or “Give me one.” He made it known to all that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he studied God’s word daily.

He is preceded in death with his father Robert Boone, and brother John Edmonds.

He is survived by his mother Geneva Boone, daughter Keva Walker (William Walker), Sons’ Kevin A. Boone (Preshus Boone), Jamar Boone (Lequita Whitaker), Mother of his children Carolyn Boone,  Rashidah Marrow who was a daughter to him, 11 Grandchildren, Keymani, Keyani, Kayanna, KJ, Tyrese, Tyana, Jayla, Keyonte’ Asante’ Jonathan and Dequrlous.

Siblings (9):  5 brother’s: Roy Boone (Viola Boone), Robert Boone ( Sheila Boone), Ronald Boone, Rickey Boone Sr. (Beverly Boone), and Donald Boone (Lanita Boone).  4 sister’s: Betty Jean Weston ( James Morris Weston), Amanda Jones ( Reginald Jones), Janice Williams, and Monica Boone.  A special friend Portia Marrow and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It is the desire of the Boone family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Services for Mr. Boone will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019  at First Baptist church Jefferson Park with Reverend Dr. Reginald C. Woodhouse officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A viewing will be held noon to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 3314 Roanoke Ave Newport News, VA 23607.
