Mr. Johnie Wright Obituary

Mr. Johnie Walter Wright, son of the late Johnie and Alma Jeter Wright, passed on April 23, 2019 at home. He was born in Pomaria, SC.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Hampton, Virginia. Johnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He always had a smile on his face and had an easy going personality. 

He was preceded in death by one son Mr. Wilbert Sims, six brothers Mr. Johnie L. Wright, Mr. Calvin Wright and Mr. Bill Tobe, all of Pomaria, SC and Mr. William D. Wright of Hampton, VA; two sisters Mrs. Daisy Tobias of Hampton, VA and Mrs. Bessie Young of Pomaria, SC.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife loving Mrs. Katherine Wright, his devoted daughter Mrs. Velma Jones, three sisters Mrs. Willie Pearl Tobe, Ms. Hattie Wright of Pomaria, SC and Mrs. Estelle McAdams of Bronx, New York; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. A special thank you is extended to his care giver Mr. Michael Sanders.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you and apreciation for all acts of kindness during the illness and passing of our love one. Thank you to all the nurses from Sentara Hospice.

 

Services for Mr. Johnie Wright will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Second Baptist Church of Hampton, 2355 West Pembroke Ave, Hampton, VA, by Pastor Leon Towns

 

Interment with military honors will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

 

A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

 

It is the desire of the Wright family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
