Mr. Jimmy Brown Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Lee Brown, AKA “Big Jim” was born on August 27th, 1959 in Tarboro N.C to Neal Brown Jr. and Mary Frances Brown. Jimmy grew up in Hampton where he attended and played football at Phoebus High School and graduated in 1977. He went into the U.S. Marines following high school.

Jimmy worked several different jobs before starting his 20 year career at Pembroke Construction, where he worked until being diagnosed with his illness. Jimmy was very strong and a hard worker. He was a great brother, uncle and friend that believed in God and enjoyed helping people in their time of need.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory nine brothers and sisters;Faye Moore of Newport News, VA, Neal Brown III of Fort Wayne, IN (Mamie), Florina Brown- Cady of Newport News, VA, Michael Brown of Newport, VA (Tanya), Janet Brown-Montgomery of Richmond, VA (Brian), Gregory Brown of Hampton, VA, Darlene Brown of Newport News, VA, Robin Brown of Richmond, VA (Kim) and Dorothy Brown of Newport News, VA (Melvin). A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A special niece Tierra Peters and special nephews Darrell Brown and Shea Bumphus. Jimmy also leaves behind his girlfriend of 15 years Veronica Wilson.

The viewing will be held at C.C Carter Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday April 19th 2018 from 2:00pm-6:00pm

His homegoing service the be held noon Friday , April 20. 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. by Dr  Christopher C. Carter Sr.,
