Mr. James "Jimmy" Parker Obituary

Mr. James "Jimmy" Henry Parker was born in Newport News, Virginia on September 15, 1946 to the late Henry Eugene and Ruby Lee Parker. James departed this life on Monday, May 6, 2019 in Newport News, VA.

 

1964 graduate of Huntington High School of Newport News, Virginia James is a veteran of the Vietnam War; served three years in the US Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign medal with Device. James was honorably discharged June 30, 1968. James had a great love for music, traveling and being a devoted loving father, husband, brother, uncle and granddad. He was very intelligent, caring and lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 

Preceding him in death, his wife Cynthia, sister Carolyn and niece Penny. James leaves to cherish his memory, a loving family, daughter Jamese Parker, sons Jazzmun Parker, Pastor Marlun Hart, Carlun Hart, sister Charlotte Curtis (John), grandchildren Shaquan, Xavier, Shone, Shoneta, Malachi, Desmond, Amira, Maurice, Milia Hart, Italia Hart, Marlun Hart Jr, Dejan Hart, niece Dana "Dee", brother-in-law Benjamin Ashton,and great nieces Chanel, Arnetha "Muffy", Marley and Londyn, step-children Kianna Murphy, Mia Murphy, Tiera Brooks and a close host of Family and Friends.

 

Services for Mr. James Henry Parker will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

 

Interment with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434.

 

A viewing for Mr. James Henry Parker will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. the day of the service at the funeral home.

 

It is the desire of the Parker family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
