Mr. James A. Kelly

Mr. James A. Kelly was born July 1, 1929 to the late Silas G. Kelley and Annie Drucilla   Jackson in Goshen, Va.

James attended school in Goshen, Va. and after the family moved to Newport News, Va., he began attending Newport News Public Schools.

After finishing schools he worked at the Coca Cola plant, and finally started working at Wheaton Moving Co. in N. News until he retired at age 85.

He was a very quiet man, never complained, but loved everyone who entered his life. No one was a stranger to him. He was ready and willing to help family or friends no matter the situation.

James became a member of SMZBT in the early 60’s and also sang in the Senior Choir for many years. He has been a blessing to all who had the opportunity to meet him.

James passed away at home on Monday night 8 pm on December 3, 2018, with his family at his bedside. He leaves to cherish his memory two (2) sisters, Catherine C. Moore, and Annie K. Sawyer, two (2) nephews, Sylvester D. Kelley of Hampton, Va., and Aaron T. Howard of New Bern, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Kelly will be held  11:00a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Six House ( Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple). 2003 Kecoughtan Rd. Hampton, VA.
