Mr. Guy Foster Obituary

Mr. Guy Willis Foster went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.  Guy was the oldest son born to Willis and Shirley Foster on January 6, 1957. A native of Hampton, VA he was educated in the Hampton Public School system and was a graduate of Hampton High School. 

Upon graduation, Guy joined the U.S. Army; he served three years in the Army and received an honorable discharge.  In 1982, he married the love of is life, Lovelle, and they had one daughter, Capricious.  Guy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

 

Guy gave his life to God and served for a time as an usher at West End Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hallie Richardson. 

 

For the past 11 years, Guy received dialysis several times a month.  His condition never stopped him from continuing to live life to the fullest possible.  Every morning he would drive behind his wife to work to ensure that she arrived safely.  He was always there for his grandchildren and enjoyed being surrounded by his family.

 

Guy leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 36 years, Elder Lovelle Foster; daughter Capricious Ruff (Wilbert) of Newport News, VA; his parents, Willis and Shirley Foster of Hampton, VA; three grandchildren, LaNyeshia Hickenbottom (Shaun) of Fayetteville, N.C., Acarya Ruff and Nathan Ruff of Newport News, VA; one great granddaughter, Rylee Hickenbottom of Fayetteville, N.C.;  brother, Larry Foster (Regina); two sisters, Tammy Pope and Angela Freeman all of Hampton, VA.  He will also be remembered by a host of relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  

 

Services for Mr. Foster will be held 1:00p.m. Tuesday, Janaury 8, 2019 at West End Baptist Church 2413 Shell Road, Hampton, VA. by Bishop Paul  Thomas.

 

Interment with Military Honors will be held at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Suffolk, VA. 

 

Viewing for Mr. Foster will be held in the Church only two hours prior to service. 

 

It is the desire of the Foster  family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 

The family of the late Mr. Guy W.  Foster  has entrusted his final care to the staff at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
