Mr. George Perkins, Jr. 67 departed this life on January 11, 2020 at James River Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, in Newport News, Virginia.
Junie was born on February 16, 1952 in Halifax, North Carolina. He attended Newport News public schools and later went on to begin his journey working different jobs and helping out at the food bank. He was last employed with Bellwood Apartments as a maintenance man. Junie was a very loving, caring and humble brother and uncle. He would help anyone who needed a helping hand and would clean up the entire neighborhood if it would make someone's day easier. Junie was an easy going individual, if you ever wanted to put a "Big" smile on Junie's face, all you had to do was give him some banana's and some strawberry Little Debbie snack cakes.
Junie was preceded in death by his parents George W. Perkins and Louvina Hawkins Perkins. He leaves to forever cherish his memories, four sisters, Annie Fletcher, Etheree Richardson, Joyce Baylor and Dejarris Stiff; two brothers Linwood Perkins (Janice) and Joe Perkins, all of Newport News and Hampton, Virginia; one special aunt Bert Putney of Richmond, Virginia; his step- father Willie Shaw; devoted nephew Marvin Daniels and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Junie we will always love you and we will forever miss you.
Viewing for Mr. Perkins will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc.
Services for Mr. Perkins will be held 11:00a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton VA. Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr, Senior Pastor- Elder Gerald Pierce Eulogist.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will assemble by 10:00 a.m. the day of the service at 5911 Andrew Place, Newport News, VA.
