Mr. Edward Hill

On August 22, 2018 our Heavenly Father summoned the spirit of Edward Oliver Hill, “Tootie Red” to return unto the Lord from whence he came.  Edward was one of four children born to the late Vivian and Mary Oliver of the Virgin Islands.

Edward spent most of his live in the beautiful city of Newport News, VA via New York City.  Edward enjoyed some of his best moments fishing around Newport News city waters and piers, spending time putting puzzles together with his wife, Dorothy while listening to gospel music, and spending time with his family.  Family meant everything to him.

The family of Edward will greatly miss his presence, but he will forever live in each of their hearts. 

Edward is preceded in death by both his parents Mary and Vivian Oliver, one brother John Oliver and three sisters Rosetta Harris, Vivian Workman, and Christine Farmville. Edward leaves to mourn this earthly absence; his loving wife Dorothy D. Hill; one sister in-law; Mildred Boothe, brother in-law, Vernell Jones (Thelma) and a very special friend of comfort; Mrs. Rita Russell, and a host of relatives and friends.

Services will be held noon Monday at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA 23666, August 27, 2018, by Pastor Telzia Thomas.  

Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. 

Mr. Hill will lie in state two hours prior to service. 

It is the desire of the Hill  family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The family of the late Mr. Edward Hill has entrusted his final care to the staff of C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
