Mr. Dwight Kenny James

Mr. Dwight Kenny James, 48, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019. A lifelong resident of the Peninsula. Attended Newport News Public Schools and Sarah Huggins Trade Center in Hampton Virginia. He was a free spirit and enjoyed laboring for his church. Dwight was a trustee at Park Place Baptist Church, Hampton Virginia and played the drums for the music department. Also, he was a volunteer for the " Crusading Outreach Ministry." Dwight was known for his smile and warm laughter. Always willing to assist others. Friends nicknamed him " Big Baby" because of his kind demeanor and gentleness. Never a complainer and going about his business.

He was a great fellow and friend to all.

Dwight was preceeded in death by his Mother, Vanessa J. James, Grandmother Hattie James and Grandfather Alfonzo James. He is survived by his Grand Aunt Maggie Gidding, Uncles and Aunts Herman Anthony (Sarah), Alfonzo James (Pat), amd Simone James (Evelyn) and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A viewing for Mr. Dwight Kenny James will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will immediately follow the viewing at 12 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc by Apostle David Pettaway.

Interment will be private.
