Mr. Charles Shine

Mr. Charles Shine transitioned Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at home surrounded by family in Charles City Virginia. 

Charles was born October 25, 1952 to the late Benjamin Johnson and the late Rosa Lee Shine Johnson in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his formal education in the Newport News Public School System and graduated from high school in 1970. Charles was em[loyed at the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. (Now Huntington Ingalls Industries). In X42 department from 1972-2012 and retired after forty years of faithful service.

Charles was a very quiet man who worked very hard to provide for his family whom he loved immensely. He had an infectious smile that would brighten any cloudy day. Charles was an avid lover of wrestling watching westerns and playing his music as he loved to dance.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin and Rosa Lee Shine Johnson. 

Left to cherish warm memories is his brother Gregory Johnson of Newport News, VA. Cousins, Keith, Jeffery, Dion, Lamont ,Larry Melvin, Jackie Hayes, Joann Kelly and Ernistine Sanders. His step-children; Hubert, Willie, Gwendolyn, Pernell Lynch Theresa Mccoy ( Marcel). Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of friends. 

Charles will be greatly missed!.

Services for Mr. Shine will held noon Friday, July 6, 2018 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc. by Rev. Michelle Curney

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. 

Viewing for Mr. Shine will be two hours prior to service. 

It is the desire of the Shine  family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
