Mr. Charles William Bullock

Peacefully on Saturday March 9, 2019, Charles William Bullock departed to his eternal resting place, it was time to mount up like an eagle and fly from labor to reward.

Charles William Bullock the son of the late Charlie and Elsie Bullock was born on August 16, 1935 and raised in Butner, North carolina.

Upon completion of his education in the North Carolina public school system, Charles "aka" Charlie worked hard creating opportunities for himself. Moving to New York City he started working as a cab driver, gaining his very own yellow cab mandilion.

In his early years he worked as a non-union ILA member at the Port of New York and New Jersey Terminals later transferring to Virginia International Terminal where he became "New York" the ILA union Member of Local # 1458, 1784 until his retirement.

In New York, Charlie meet the love of his life/ best friend, Delores. They both relocated to Hampton, Virginia where they were married. Charlie a loving man, enjoyed caring for his wife and family. He was blessed with a large family; one of his favorites were to travel driving across- country with his wife and family enjoying themselves.

Charlie loved the thrill of the horse racing tracks, he spent time educating on the thoroughbred's, the favorites, trotters and the flats. Although he is gone too soon, he toughed the lives of many and will truly be missed.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Delores Bullock of many years, his son Alfred Bullock, Daughters Paulette Bullock of Hackensack, NJ; Karen Garnett of Haverstraw, NY; Kim Wynn (Cornell) of Gilbert, AZ; eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.

Services for Mr. Bullock held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple. 3100 Butternut Dr. Hampton, Va. by Dr. Jerome Barber.

Entombment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Viewing for Mr. Bullock will be held from noon until 5:00p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
