Mr. Antonio Lurico Hawkins

Mr. Antonio Lurico Hawkins (38), son, father and dear friend to all answered his Master's call on September 7, 2019. Antonio Hawkins affectionately known as "Baldy" to his family and friends was born to Ms. Nannie B. Hawkins (Tina) and Calvin L. Cheatham on March 10, 1981. Antonio was raised in Newport News, VA., spent years in Greensboro, North Carolina, but decided to settle and spend the rest of his life near his mom, sister and the rest of his family in Hampton, VA. Waiting to usher Antonio into the Gates of Heaven, was his daughter and angel Amonie Taylor, his father Michael J. Corbin, his brother Willie L. Hamlett, his cousin Zopella (Dion) Hawkins, his aunt Mary Anne Hawkins and his paternal Grandmother, Etta P. Hamlett.

Antonio leaves to cherish his memories, his loving parents, his dearest maternal grandmother Geneva Hawkins, Grandfather Claude (Red) Hawkins, his beloved sisters Dominique Hawkins, Michelle Jordan (Tony) and brother Michael Corbin. Also cherishing his memories are his beautiful sisters, Candi Rhodes, Kiara Hamlett, Briana Hamlett, Mia and Samantha Corbin and his brothers Darius Hamlett and Calvin Hardy. Antonio's best creation and lasting legacy will be seen in the eyes of his children, sons Amar Hawkins, Amon Taylor, Jakari Banks, and his newborn princess Ahlaijah Hawkins.

Carrying his spirit, love and legacy will also include his two nephews, whom Antonio thought of more as sons, Raekwon Hawklins and Damonte Bailey. Antonio was blessed to be in the life of Nijah, Nya and Nysir, who he was able to affect their lives by sharing his love, spreading his wisdom and guidance. His lasting love and memories will never leave the heart of his special friend and love Ruth E. Jackson Wallace. Life will be incomplete without the fun, joy foolery, and stories shared with his friends Terry “Scrappa” S. and Jermaine Jackson. Although each cannot be named individually, there were many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close fiends who will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc by Bishop Felton Hawkins.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
