Anthony Lee Williams, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2019. Born March 31, 1950 to the late Willie Guiden and Emma Lee Williams. Tony was raised in Newport News, VA. He graduated from Carver High School in Newport News in 1969 and attended Norfolk State University.
A Marine veteran, Tony faithfully served the citizens of the City of Norfolk for over 30 years as a firefighter and later in his career as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). He retired in July 2009. He was the recipient of numerous service related rewards and recognitions. Tony was a positive influence in the lives of many young people while serving as a lifeguard and basketball referee.
Tony is survived by his loving daughter, Carla Williams Ingram (Eric); three grandchildren, Erin, Cori and Christopher Ingram; four cousins, Frances Smith Small, Louvenia Blow (Raifer), Edward Robinson, and Clarence Price; nephew, Dr. Christopher C. Carter (Anita); former wives, Janis Roddy Wortham and Joyce Williams and a host of extended family and friends.
